How much exercise do I need?

If you wonder how much exercise do you need, it all depends on our age, activity level, life style, and diet. If you're a teenage girl, you need to exercise for about 60 minutes every day. Setting aside 60 minutes all at once each day is one way to get in enough exercise. If you wait until the end of the day to squeeze it in, you probably won’t exercise enough or at all. If you’re not active for 60 minutes straight, it’s okay to exercise for 10 or 20 minutes at a time throughout the day.
 
If you're in your 20s and have a job that requires sitting in front of a computer for 8 hours each day, then you should try to stand up every hour or so. A 30 minute a day is good. But try to walk as much as possible. Park your car far from the building and walk. Do housework, clean, and eat a well balanced diet.

If you're over 65, walking is the best exercise for you. If you're retired, then plan an active lifestyle, stay active throughout the day. Housekeeping, gardening, running errands all count as activities. Limit sitting and watching TV to minimum.
